Introduction

Arcane mage is a really good single target caster DPS. It's switching ability is pretty nice but arcane mage really needs gear and supports to be good.

Talent

If you are over hit cap from gear you can switch points from Arcane Focus to Student of the Mind. At BiS gear you just need to talent 1/3 Arcane Focus and 2/3 Student of the Mind and also you will have to use Greater Spirit enchant on your boots.

Glyphs

1. Major Glyphs

- Glyph of Molten Armor Your Molten Armor grants an additional 20% of your spirit as critical strike rating.

- Glyph of Arcane Missiles  Increases the critical strike damage bonus of Arcane Missiles by 25%.

- Glyph of Arcane Blast Increases the damage from your Arcane Blast buff by 3%.

2. Minor Glyphs

- Glyph of Fire Ward You have an additional 5% chance to reflect Fire spells while your Fire Ward is active.

- Glyph of Frost Ward You have an additional 5% chance to reflect Frost spells while your Frost Ward is active.

- Glyph of Slow Fall Your Slow Fall spell no longer requires a reagent.

Shoulder - Greater Inscription of the Storm +24 spell power +15 crit

Cloak - Greater Speed +23 haste

Chest - Powerful Stats +10 all stats

Bracers - Superior Spellpower +30 spell power

Gloves - Exceptional Spellpower +28 spell power

Waist - Eternal Belt Buckle +1 belt socket

Legs - Brilliant Spellthread +50 spell power +20 spirit

Boots - Icewalker +12 hit +12 crit if you need hit otherwise
Great Spirit +18 spirit

Staff - Greater Spellpower +81 spell power, if you can, never use a staff you lose a lot of spellpower if you use staves.

One-handed - Mighty Spellpower +63 spell power

Gems

Meta: - [Chaotic Skyflare Diamond] +21 Critical Strike Rating and 3% Increased Critical Damage

Red: - [Runed Cardinal Ruby] +23 spell power

Yellow: - [Reckless Ametrine] +12 spell power +10 haste

Blue: - [Purified Dreadstone] +12 spell power +10 spirit

Stat Priorities

1. Hit rating: The most important stat ofc. You need 17% hit chance in total but you have 6% from talent ( Arcane Focus and Precision), 3% from Shadow Priests ( Misery ) or Balance Druids ( Improved Faerie Fire ), and on Alliance side you are a Draenei you have 1% hit chance from your racial ( Heroic Presence ). This means that for ICC25, RS25 you will most probably have at least one Balance Druid or Shadow Priest, you need 8% hit chance, on Alliance side as Draenei 7%. Of course with gear it might change because you can retalent from Arcane Focus to Student of the Mind.

5. Intellect: Yeah! Manapool and the good amount of crit intellect gives you makes this stat better than spirit :D You really don't have to mind about it actually as every item will give you intellect normally.

1. Tailoring: Gives you an average of 98 Spell Power

2. Engineering: +340 Haste for 15 seconds on 1 minute cooldown

3. Jewelcrafting: +48 Spell Power

4. Leatherworking/Enchanting/Inscription/Blacksmithing: +46 Spell Power

5. Skinning: +40 Crit Rating
