Restoration 3.3.5 PVE Heal

2019.02.10

Introduction

Restoration druid is super fun and super good hands down! You can play it with 4/5 T9 for Reju crits, so in lower gear it is still healing a lot then switch to 4/5 T10 for more stats and decent set bonuses but not as good as the T9 set bonus. Resto druid can always be a part in the your 10man and for sure for 25man, it is an amazing healer with Innervate for other healers and with Rebirth, but you have CCs for Lady for example or even do damage when you really need to push.

Talents

1. 856 haste cap:
- provides more healing in general
- better for late game content

2. 735 haste cap:
- lesser healing out put
- more reachable in lower gear

Glyphs

1. Major

- Glyph of Swiftmend is a MUST, Your Swiftmend ability no longer consumes a Rejuvenation or Regrowth effect from the target.
- Glyph of Wild Growth is a MUST, Wild Growth can affect 1 additional target.

3rd glyph options:
- Glyph of Rejuvenation While your Rejuvenation targets are below 50% health, you will heal them for an additional 50% health.
- Glyph of Nourish Your Nourish heals an additional 6% for each of your heal over time effects present on the target.
- Glyph of Innervate Innervate now grants the caster 45% of <his/her> base mana pool over 10 sec in addition to the normal effects of Innervate.

I do not suggest using Glyph of Rapid Rejuvenation, your hots tick down faster which for 25man raids reduces your chances to Swiftmend, but can be perfectly fine for 10man raids.

Enchants

Head - Arcanum of Burning Mysteries +30 spell power +20 crit

Shoulder - Greater Inscription of the Storm +24 spell power +15 crit

Cloak - Greater Speed +23 haste

Chest - Powerful Stats +10 all stats

Bracers - Superior Spellpower +30 spell power

Gloves - Exceptional Spellpower +28 spell power

Waist - Eternal Belt Buckle +1 belt socket

Legs - Brilliant Spellthread +50 spell power +20 spirit

Boots - Great Spirit (+18 spirit)(but you don't really need extra mana reg), even Tuskarr's Vitality (+15 stamina and minor movement speed) can be useful as well, it is up to you.

Staff - Greater Spellpower +81 spell power, if you can, never use a staff you lose a lot of spell power if you use staves.

One-handed - Mighty Spellpower +63 spell power

Gems

Your goal first of all to have your haste cap (856 or 735 depending on your talent).

Meta: Ember Skyflare Diamond +25 Spell Power and +2% Intellect
Insightful Earthsiege Diamond +21 Intellect and Chance to restore mana on spellcast
I suggest using the 1st one, use the 2nd one if you have problem with your mana regeneration.

Quick King's Amber +20 haste
Reckless Ametrine +12 spell power +10 haste
Runed Cardinal Ruby +23 spell pwoer
Purified Dreadstone +12 spell power +10 spirit

Going for sockets are not usually worth, but you can calculate it yourself. The goal is to have your haste cap. Spirit gems are generally not so useful since you don't really need mana reg, if the socket is really worth it or you meta needs it go for it, otherwise after your haste cap gem only Runed Cardinal Ruby +23 spell power.

Stat priorities

1. Haste until capped (856 or 735)

2. Spell Power

3. Spirit: Gives mp5 and a little spell power as well (15%). Get even increased by buffs like kings which makes the extra spell power by Living Spirit even better.

4. Crit: It is better if you are using 4/5 T9.

5. Intellect

6. Mana reg

Professions

Your goal is to reach haste cap then to maximize your spell power.

1. Jewelcrafting, big gems for both spell power or haste.

2. Blacksmithing, extra gem sockets.

3. Enchanting, Leatherworking, Inscription ... etc. everything that gives you passive spell power.

4. Tailor, it doesn't give passive spell power but procs more spell power which is actually more, but I don't like spell power procs on healers.

5. Engineering, well you don't need the extra haste, it is a funny profession tho.

6. Skinning gives you 40 critical rating.

Best in Slot gear

Head - Sanctified Lasherweave Helmet

Neck - Bone Sentinel's Amulet

Shoulders - Sanctified Lasherweave Pauldrons

Cloak - Greatcloak of the Turned Champion

Chest - Sanguine Silk Robes

Bracers - Bracers of Fiery Night

Gloves - Sanctified Lasherweave Gauntlets

Waist - Professor's Bloodied Smock

Legs - Sanctified Lasherweave Legplates

Boots - Boots of Unnatural Growth

Ring1 - Ashen Band of Endless Wisdom

Ring2 - Memory of Malygos

Trinket1 - Glowing Twilight Scale

Trinket2 - Althor's Abacus , It is worth mentionin that only the spell power is good from this trinket since the procs is pretty bad, so on fights which are long Solace of the Deafeted is better.

Idol - Idol of the Black Willow

Off-Hand - Sundial of Eternal Dusk

Main-Hand - Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings or Royal Scepter of Terenas II

A little discussion about the 4/5 T9 gearing. It is not worth it, you lose a lot of stats with it, the crit was changed for resto druids in the patch 3.2 so it is not that good for ICC. 4/5 T10's set bonus can heal up to 8-12% in AOE heavy fights which is really decent.

Gameplay

1. Rejuvenation is our best healing spell. Which should be up on as many people as you can when you think that AOE damage will occur, or you can put it up on people who will receice damage, so pre-hotting them, usually you put it on as many as you can any way.

2. Wild Growth should be used on cooldown.

3. Swiftmend should be used on cooldown whenever someone drops health, usually you will have Rejuvenation on the target so you can use it, Rejuvenation pre-hotting is needed anyway and then you can use your Swiftmend to save people in one GCD.

4. Lifebloom should not be used that much, it costs a lot of mana, but can be used on tanks if they will need the extra tank healing like on 10man raids if your partner healer struggles or on Lich King heroic or normal when the tank takes huge damage on Soul Reapers.

5. Regrowth should be used when the raid is really dying and you need to heal ASAP!

6. Nourish is empowered by your hots, the more hots the bigger it heals. With the glyph, it can be good for single target healing like VDW or LK.

7. Healing Touch is pretty bad, it is a slow cast and heals as much as Nourish with hots on. Can be useful with Nature's Swiftness.

Raid supports

- 6% increased healing to the raid

- Revitalize Your Rejuvenation and Wild Growth spells have a 15% chance to restore 8 Energy, 4 Rage, 1% Mana or 16 Runic Power per tick.

- Rebirth, battle resurrection!

- Most mobile healer

- Druid buff is really good

- Innervate for the other healer, really useful for restoration shamans

- Rebirth

- CCs like Cyclone
