Blood DK 3.3.5 PVE DPS
Introduction
Blood is considered as a not valid dps spec by many, but it can have it places if the itemization and the playstyle is correct. Blood works similar to fury warriors gearing wise. Blood can be a good damage dealer, but will rank lower than the other two specs, but on single target fights blood can be really good.
Talent
Vampiric Blood is a great survival cooldown and since you need to put 1 point somewhere it has the most value.
Glyphs
1. Major
- Glyph of Death Strike Increases your Death Strike's damage by 1% for every 1 runic power you currently have (up to a maximum of 25%). The runic power is not consumed by this effect.
- Glyph of Dark Death Increases the damage or healing done by Death Coil by 15%.
- Glyph of Disease Your Pestilence ability now refreshes disease durations and secondary effects of diseases on your primary target back to their maximum duration.
2. Minor
- Glyph of Pestilence Increases the radius of your Pestilence effect by 5 yards.
- Glyph of Raise Dead Your Raise Dead spell no longer requires a reagent.
- Glyph of Blood Tap Your Blood Tap no longer causes damage to you.
Enchants
Head - Arcanum of Torment +50 attack power +20 crit
Shoulders - Greater Inscription of the Axe +40 attack power +15 crit
Cloak - Greater Speed +23 haste > Major Agility +22 agility
Chest - Powerful Stats +10 all stats
Bracers - Greater Assault +50 attack power
Weapon - Rune of the Fallen Crusader Affixes your rune weapon with a rune that has a chance to heal you for 3% and increase total Strength by 15% for 15 sec.
Gloves - Crusher +44 attack power
Belt - Eternal Belt Buckle +1 belt buckle
Legs - Icescale Leg Armor +75 attack power +22 crit
Boots - Greater Assault +32 attack power
Gems
In lower gear, like for warriors, go for strength gems, later in higher gear when you can actually achieve your armor penetration cap which is 90% for blood since you have 10% from a talent ( Blood Gorged ).
Meta : Relentless Earthsiege Diamond +21 Agility and 3% Increased Critical Damage
Red : Bold Cardinal Ruby +20 strength or Fractured Cardinal Ruby +20 armor penetration
Yellow : Bold Cardinal Ruby +20 strength or Fractured Cardinal Ruby +20 armor penetration or even Inscribed Ametrine +10 strength +10 crit if you have armor penetration cap
Blue : Bold Cardinal Ruby +20 strength or Fractured Cardinal Ruby +20 armor penetration
1x Nightmare Tear for the meta
Chaotic Skyflare Diamond (+21 Critical Strike Rating and 3% Increased Critical Damage) should be better, but you need 2 blue gems to activate it, so I don't like putting an extra blue gem in.
Stat Priorities
1. Hit 8% (7% with draenei)
2. Expertise 26
3. Strength/Armor penetration if you can have your cap. after that Strength
4. Crit
5. Haste
6. Agility you can only a small amount of crit from agiligy, don't bother with this stat.
On items you want to have Armor pen + Crit after your hit/expertise cap, and of course plate items with strength.
Professions
1. Jewelcrafting big gems, + 42 strength/armor penetration
2. Blacksmithing +40 strength/armor penetration
Those are the best, hands down. Other professions have their additions but those are the best.
