Fire 3.3.5 DPS

Introduction

Fire mage is the best DPS in 3.3.5. overall.

Period.

Actually it's very high single target damage output, very good AoE damage output, very good switching ability and mobility what makes the fire mage an outstanding DPS class.


Talent 


Option 1 (TTW Mage)

(This is the best spec once you reach about 700-800 haste.)

Option 2 (LB FFB)

(This spec is good for lower gear but viable in end-game gear, too, but I think TTW is the best way to go of course.)

Glyphs


Major Glyph:

- Glyph of Fireball Reduces the casting time of your Fireball spell by 0.15 sec, but removes the damage over time effect.

- Glyph of Molten Armor Your Molten Armor grants an additional 20% of your spirit as critical strike rating.

- Glyph of Living Bomb The periodic damage from your Living Bomb can now be critical strikes.

Head - Arcanum of Burning Mysteries +30 spell power +20 crit

Shoulder - Greater Inscription of the Storm +24 spell power +15 crit

Cloak - Greater Speed +23 haste

Chest - Powerful Stats +10 all stats

Bracers - Superior Spellpower +30 spell power

Gloves - Exceptional Spellpower +28 spell power

Waist - Eternal Belt Buckle + 1 belt socket

Legs - Brilliant Spellthread +50 spell power / +20 spirit

Boots - Icewalker +12 crit / +12 hit

Staff - Greater Spellpower +81 spell power, avoid using a staff (huge loss of spell power).

One-handed - Mighty Spellpower +63 spell power

Meta: - [Chaotic Skyflare Diamond] +21 Critical Strike Rating and 3% Increased Critical Damage

Red: - [Runed Cardinal Ruby] +23 spell power 

Yellow: - [Potent Ametrine] +12 spell power +10 crit 
               [Reckless Ametrine] +12 spell power 10 haste (use this Spell Power+Haste gem in low gear when you're under about 800 haste)

Stat Priorities

(Stat priority varies with gear a lot! This priority list is relevant in mostly ICC/RS Gears.)

1. Hit rating (For raiding you need 17% hit chance, normally a shadow priest or balance druid gives you 3% in a raid, on alliance side draenei gives 1%, and LB FFB talent gives you 3%.)

Professions

1. Tailoring: Gives you an average of 98 Spell Power

2. Jewelcrafting: +48 Spell Power

3. Leatherworking/Enchanting/Inscription/Blacksmithing: +46 Spell Power

4. Skinning: +40 Crit Rating

5. Engineering: +340 Haste for 15 seconds on 1 minute cooldown

Gameplay

Use Potion of Wild Magic (2x/fight).

Use Flask of the Frost Wyrm.

Use Flame Cap.

Craft Mana Sapphire before fights :P


Opener

In the opener you would ideally start casting a Pyroblast (calculate it to land just at the pull 0 or a bit after that) then use Scorch (if you don't have a Demonology or Affliction Warlock in your raid) and then apply a Living Bomb on the boss then comes the filler:

The filler as a TTW mage is the FIreball. When you have a proc of instant Pyroblast just use it.

While moving you should use Fire Blast.

You should keep your Ignite up (ideally) all the times which is why you need sooo much crit. If you see Ignite is about to fall off, you do not crit with your Fireball and you have no time to cast another Fireball and have no instant Pyroblast proc you can always try to keep your Ignite up by using a Fire Blast at the end of your last Fireball cast.

Trade Focus Magic with another mage if you have one. (On 25 you should have at least like 3 mages)

For AoE you should apply Living Bomb on about 2-3 targets use Flamestrike, and then Blizzard.
